Met dit
werk is een einde gekomen aan mijn 2020: An art odyssey
serie, waarin ik de beste 100 Europese kunstwerken van de
20e eeuw heb nageëigend. Als ik het opnieuw had mogen doen,
dan had ik alleen de nek van de struisvogel, de F van FKR
(mijn sponsors) en de duim uitsnede anders gedaan. Maar
goed, ik zou mezelf tekort doen als ik hierbij stil zal
blijven staan.
Linksonder staan drie portretten van evenzoveel belangrijke
kunstenaars afgebeeld. Boven deze drie, zien we de gulden-afbeeldingen van Wilhelmina, Juliana en Beatrix zoals
ik ze na 1-1-2002 me zal moeten herinneringen, met daarnaast
de eerste letters van mijn sponsors; Forbo, Kinko's en de
RET in de primaire kleurvlakken geel, blauw en rood. In het
centrum van het kunstwerk staat een kruis, dat als een
neonlicht oplicht en dooft. Het kruis wordt gedragen door
een naakte vrouw rechts van het kruis. De zwaan, de
struisvogel, de olifant en de eend posten naast of boven de
deur opening. Onder dit tafereel vinden we een lege
woonkamer met een tv met daarop een jaaroverzicht van CNN
met daarop oa. de beelden van 11-9-2001. Verder naar rechts
zien we mij afgebeeld als een centaur (halfmens-halfpaard)
die een muur probeert te overwinnen. Boven aan zien we nog
twee venster met in het linker venster een blauwe lucht met
een vierkante zon en als we het kunstwerk omdraaien, dan
zien we in de linker benedenhoek een stilleven met een
bloemenvaas, een fles wijn en een halfvol glas. Achter de
vaas zien we overigens een spiegel die meer dan alleen de
vaas weerspiegelt. Met als zichtbaar resultaat dat de
woorden "DIT IS KUNST" in spiegelbeeld zijn afgedrukt.

ik aan dit werk begon, heb ik de belangrijkste ingrediënten
uit mijn 2020: An art odyssey serie bepaald en deze gebruikt
in het werk 2001:

With this work I finished my 2000 Masterpiece serie, with
this serie I copropiated the 100 best European artworks from the 20th
century. If I good start all over, I would redesign the neck of the
ostrich, the F from FKR and the thumb cut in the left below corner. But it
is good, I would harm my self, if I stay asking my self what did I wrong.
In the left below corner we see portraits of three important
artist of the 20th century. Above thse three artist, we find the
gulden-picture of Wilhelmina, Juliana and Beatrix as I have to remember
them after 1-1-2002, to the left site of our three queens we see the first
letters of my sponsors; Forbo, Kinko's and the RET in primair color
squares yellow, blue and red. In the center of the artwork we see a cross,
which light up and down as a neon-light in the night. A nude women, right
to the cross, carries the cross. The swan, the ostrich, the elephant and
the duck guards the doorway. Below to this scenes we see a empty
livingroom with a tv on the screen we see an annual report from CNN about
what happened at 11-9-2001. Further to the right we see a picture of a
centaur (halfhuman-halfhorse) which try to conquer a wall. Above, we see
two windows with in the left window a blue sky with a square sun and as we
turn the artwork 180 degrees, we see in the left below corner a still life
with a vase, a bottle of wine and a half full glass. Behind this vase we
see a mirror which reflect more than just the vase with flowers. With as
visible result that the word "DIT IS KUNST" (THIS IS ART) is
printed in reflection.
