Als
surrealist wist Dali in zijn films, schilderijen en
sculpturen altijd absurde voorstellingen te maken, waarin de
kijker voortdurend bedrogen wordt. De onderste horizon
bijvoorbeeld lijkt golvend te zijn maar in feite is deze
kaasrecht. Het door Dali geschilderde spookachtig landschap
is Port Lligat in Noordoost-Spanje, waar Dali zijn jeugd
doorbracht. De in het schilderij opgenomen smeltende
horloges staan zijn geďnspireerd op overrijpe camemberts
waar zijn oog op was gevallen. De slappe toestand heeft
wellicht ook een seksuele connotatie, vooral bij het horloge
dat in het midden van de compositie over een rots in de vorm
van Dali's gezicht hangt. Misschien ook weerspiegelt dit
werk Dali's belangstelling voor de moderne wetenschap,
waarin Einsteins realiviteitstheorie alle gevestigde ideeën
over tijd en ruimte had ondermijnd.
Dit werk
is niet een van mijn grootste werken, het is het tweede werk
van vandaag, eerder had ik namelijk bij vergissing een René
Magritte gemaakt in de veronderstelling dat het een Salvador
Dali, was. Maar goed nog even wachten en ook dit werk kan
door jullie bezichtigd worden in een van de twee Kunstpalen
in de stad. |
As surrealist Dali succeed in his movies, paintings and sculptures to make
always absurd shows, in which he deceived the spectator continnuously.
The lowest horizon for example seems to be waving but in fact it is a
straight line. The painted spooky landscape is Port Lligat in the
North-east of Spain, Dali grew up in this area. The three painted
smelting watches whith each another time are inspired by over-ripe
camemberts which he saw during the work at this painting. The weak
condition has also a sexual connotation, exspecially at the watch in the
middel of the composition over the rock in the shape of Dali's face.
Perhaps it reflect also Dali's interest in the modern science about
Einsteins realiviteits-theory in which all accepted ideas over time and
space became history.
This work will not be one of my best, it is the second of today, ealier
I made a mistake by making a René Magritte in the supposition that it
was a Salvador Dali. Within a few weeks you can see, which work |
